What is the difference between poundo and pounded yam?
Poundo yam is an instant yam flour that is mixed with hot water to make a smooth, stretchy dough similar to traditionally pounded yam. Traditional pounded yam is made from boiled yam pounded in a mortar. Poundo yam flour gives a very similar taste and texture in minutes, without the pounding.
What is pounded yam in African food?
